I see you are having issues running an older version of the Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing app on a 2018 MacBook Pro.
There are a couple of possible issues. First, some older apps transferred via Migration Assistant (which is what it sounds like you did) do not run reliably. You may need to reinstall the app from the original installation media. The other possible issue is it sounds like this app stored info in the iTunes library. There have been substantial changes to iTunes between 2011 and now. It may just be that the older version is not compatible with the version of macOS and iTunes you're currently running.
There is, however, a current version of the app available in the Mac App Store.
