YOU DON'T KNOW JACK, the original quiz show party game, is back and trivia-y-er than ever You're the contestant in a truly interactive game show experience, complete with cash, prizes, backstage characters, pounding music, bizarre sound effects and your lovable yet verbally sassy host, Cookie Masterson.

If you've ever wondered what to do with all of that useless knowledge you have taking up space in your brain, look no further. You Don't Know Jack, 5th Dimension is the perfect way to put it to use. This quiz game mixes pop culture with intelligence to give players a fun way to show what they know. But this isn't your average game show.

The first thing you have to do is pick an alter ego. The trick is you can't preview your new face. Don't be discouraged if the face wasn't what you expected; most are contorted into funny -- and sometimes scary -- images. Right away, you will learn the theme of the game. The topics are fun -- some are sitcoms, childhood, tabloids -- but they are never as easy as they sound. Most questions are given in a multiple-choice format, but those who have played other You Don't Know Jack games know a new type of question will come up when it's least expected. The game spices up the play by adding different kinds of questions into the mix.

Know

As in other You Don't Know Jack games, players can expect to see familiar question formats, including fill-in-the-blank; gibberish and anagram, where the correct answer will either rhyme with or contain the letters of the clue; DisorDat, where you are given a clue and need to determine which of two categories it falls under; and the ever popular final question, the Jack Attack, where you are given a clue and must try to beat your opponent to the match when it appears on the screen.

This version of Jack, however, adds another type of question: The Bug Out Question. Consider this the question you love to hate. It works like this: You need to identify items that do not belong to the specified group. Bugs crawl across the screen and when you see one that doesn't fit the group, you hit your buzzer. This is so much harder than it sounds. Say, for instance, the category is Brady Bunch kids. Bugs will scurry out with the names of the kids, such as Marcia, Jan, Greg, etc. A few that don't belong will get thrown into the mix. It's mostly about reflexes, but catch yourself buzzing in as Cindy pops up on the screen, and you can feel mighty stupid.

The fun you'll have depends on whom you're playing, though, and with this game you've got plenty of options. You Don't Know Jack, 5th Dimension gives you the chance to play by yourself, with friends or online with strangers or friends. While it's always fun to play against your friends, this game really deserves points for its online capabilities. There are a lot of games you can play online, but after awhile, you tire of them. Either the chat option is awkward or not easily accessible. Maybe the game is not as exciting to play if your friends aren't there playing with you.

This game is the exception. You can play for hours, buzzing away on game after cutthroat game with your online opponent. One of the best features is the chat option; it's easy to use and doesn't interfere with your ability to play. You'll be able to get acquainted with your challenger throughout the game, which at the very least, can lead to future rematches. It's also interesting to see how your opponent reacts to the game.

Every time the bug question came up during an online game, for example, a chat box would appear reading, 'No no no no no no!!!' The opponent also didn't like his alter ego, which looked like he was spitting out water every time he floundered on a question. Random chat boxes would appear with messages such as 'I wish I would stop spitting! What's up with that?' You Don't Know Jack, 5th Dimension is hip, smart and fun. Whether you play alone or with friends, it's a game any quiz-show lover should add to his or her collection.

Graphics: The game seems to move from one question to the next with no lagging. All the words on the screen are clear and very easy to read -- unless you've ended up with the Gibberish Question!

Mac

Sound: There's a lot going on in this game, and the great sound never leaves you wondering where you are. The questions are read in a clear voice, sometimes mixed with sounds from a studio audience and funky music. You feel like you're really on the show.

Enjoyment: This game is off-the-wall, funny and intelligent. It's always full of surprises to keep you on your toes and really get into the game.

Replay Value: Whether you win or lose, you feel compelled to either uphold your title or play until the champion is defeated.
